FEATURED COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP:

Child Find thanks all the caring folks involved

in raising funds and awareness at

 The 3rd Annual

UPROAR MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival team

again partnered with CHILD FIND in 2012,

donating proceeds from merchandise sales which

resulted in a gift of $6680.32!

Each festival site also feature a Cause Tent where Child Find's information materials were prominently displayed and readily available to concert-goers.

The UPROAR music festival was launched in 2010 for a 2-month tour of arenas across the US and Canada.  Child Find safety messages, hotline numbers and missing children posters were taken along for the ride. Over $40,000 was raised from special promotions.

UPROAR again partnered with Child Find in 2011,  sharing a portion of product sales and the gate, resulting in a gift of $14,720.51

I’m really, really excited about this charity we have for UPROAR, Child Find America. We’re going to be doing this massive awareness for missing and abducted children in this country. .. We’ve instituted a pretty substantial awareness campaign and we’re putting in money and effort to bring some light to that.

–John Reese, UPROAR producer, in a 2010 Pollstar interview

When I was growing up, my whole world revolved around music. Even if we can save one child from being taken. Maybe that kid will pick up the guitar and rock the UPROAR festival one day.

                    --John Oakes, UPROAR producer

On the road: UPROAR promoters provided "traveling billboards" on the side

of equipment trucks, advertising Child Find's toll-free helpline and website.

NATIONAL

MISSING CHILDREN'S DAY

 MAY 25TH

On May 25th 1979, 6-year-old Etan Patz was abducted in New York City and became a symbol for missing children everywhere. Through Child Find's efforts, in 1983 President Ronald Regan declared May 25th National Missing Children's Day

While abduction by a stranger is the most dangerous form of kidnapping, more kids are taken and harmed by family acquaintances. Therefore the most important safety messages to teach kids discuss, not so much WHO to avoid, but HOW to identify and avoid potentially dangerous situations.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of National Missing Children’s Day we're providing a quick link to Child Find’s “Safety Tips for School, Play and Everyday”  so that you may continue to participate in and support the effort to protect our children and prevent child abduction.

  • Share the “Safety Tips” with the children in your life by attaching them to the fridge or family bulletin board as a conversation starter or review reminder.

  • Make copies for friends and family.

  • Explore Child Find’s website and download this and other safety flyers. You can also copy and upload/link them on your Facebook page or send them in emails.

Since our founding in 1980 by a searching mother, Child Find has helped locate thousands of missing, abducted and runaway children – with the support of individuals like you. Further, and again with your help, Child Find continues to prevent abductions through education, conflict management and mediation.
